The Side Serpent is solid sterling silver and will accommodate small-diameter necklaces. This pendant of Esculapius attaches to the necklace via a hole through the top of the staff. It was with this pendant that I started to branch out and explore different designs of a pattern that has lasted for thousands of years. These  "new" designs are found in Topped Serpent and Looped Serpent pendants as well. I pondered over the naming of these varieous  pieces for several months and decided to go with descriptive names that were easy to remember.

Symbol Of Medicine Terms

Terms referring to the ancient mythical god of medicine have been spelled numerous different ways over the past 2,500 years. I use different spellings to help Google. The terms Asclepius, Aesculapius, and Asklepios all refer to the same god of medicine during various Greek or Roman times. The serpent entwined around a staff or rod is the second part of this symbol of medicine. Another symbol of medicine occasionally used is the Caduceus which is also spelled Caducius.

 About Us

This company was founded by me over 40 years ago when I was a medical student. After a couple of residencies, a fellowship, and ten years spent as a land developer inserted between residencies, I now work part-time as an Emergency Medicine doctor and make jewelry as a hobby. My wife and I live in Key West with our tiny red poodle named Red Corpuscle. My lovely bride runs the company while I make the jewelry on my days off.

 ...carpe diem.
